Meeting Schedule

The Maryland Horse Council Trails and Greenways Committee invites you to attend the Fall 2007 meeting.

Date and Time: October 3, 2007 at 7:30 PM.

Location: Maryland League of Horsemen, 8067 Henryton Rd. Marriottsville, MD 21104.

Keynote speaker: Nita Settina. Nita is the equestrian liason from the Maryland Department of Natural Resources and Chief of Nature Tourism. She's an avid mountain biker, paddler, and occasional horseback rider. Please come to hear news about your trails, where you can ride, what trails are in the planning stages and what you can and need to do to ensure wquestrain access to our trails in the future.

Belong to a club? You may wish to bring some membership applications, flyers for events and trail riding calendars from your club. If you'd like a table for your materials, or time on the agenda, please contact the Trails and Greenways committee so we may accomodate you.

December 7, 2005 meeting: "2006 - Security on Trails"

Meetings start promptly at 7:00 p.m. on the first Wednesday of alternating months (Feb, Apr, Jun, Aug, Oct, Dec)

Budgets are being slashed - rangers and patrols are being reduced. How are you going to feel safe on YOUR trails? Volunteer Mounted Patrol Programs Start one in your park! Great for safety, great for public relations. Get ideas and contacts for your organization! Great networking! Trail Work Days

Rosaryville - Update August 2005 Work Days

Fair Hill - Work groups meet on the second Saturday of every month, weather permitting, from 9:00-1:00.

• Meet (promptly by 9 A.M) at the Mechanics Center (next to DNR office)

• Bring gloves, preferred tools for trail clearing. Tools are also provided.

• Great way to meet the people who share the trails.

• Everybody is welcome, riders, bikers, joggers, hikers, and anyone with an interest in the trails at Fair Hill! Check with the office, they're always happy to have volunteers! Call (410) 398-1246
