Join the Maryland Horse Council!

The Maryland Horse Council has a unique membership structure, which allows it to represent the broadest spectrum of people involved with or interested in horses. Our membership consists of associations, farms, businesses and individuals. The Association members, e.g., breed enthusiasts, sport and discipline groups, etc. are each entitled to one vote on the Board of Directors. The other membership categories: Business, Farm, Individual, etc., exercise their voting privileges through elected Directors-at-Large. Each of these categories elects one Director-at-Large for every 25 or fewer members of the category. This composition of the Board of Directors balances the voting strength of each of the diverse groups.

Types of Membership

  • Association:  Annual - $100, Lifetime - $1,000
Open to all sporting, breed, and activity clubs, as well as professional organizations that have a voting membership. A member association is entitled to designate one individual to serve on the Board of Directors. The Board of Directors, by vote, decides policy and legislative positions for the Maryland equestrian community.
